Remote Engineering Goes Digital
Ross-Shire Engineering were engaged by Scottish Water, one of the UK’s largest Water Utility companies, to carry out detailed Visual Inspections and Non-Destructive Testing of over 2,000 chemical tanks at numerous remote locations.
After an initial Proof Of Concept, TickAudit was chosen. Working together, a number of audit templates and custom reports were developed to enable the inspections and testing to be carried out on mobile.
The key benefits of using TickAudit were:
- The removal of paper from the project
- Quick, accurate data capture during inspections and testing
- Timestamped, GPS and Photographic evidence of all inspections and testing
- Real time data capture available for review and use
- Automated transfer of reports to Scottish Water
- Immediate alerting on Tanks that required remedial action
The use of TickAudit saved Scottish Water approximately £750k over the full programme by saving thousands of admin hours.
Kathryn Dalgliesh from Ross-Shire Engineering also won a UK Water Industry Award for her work on the programme – International Women In Engineering Day – RSE Celebrates Graduate Engineer Shortlisted as UK Water Industry Award Finalist.
